Introduction

So this blog has just begun.
I've packed my car to near bursting and I'm leaving first thing in the morning. While I don't leave for Austria for another week, once I leave tomorrow things will be pretty non-stop until I arrive in Europe. Tomorrow I leave for Oklahoma (17ish hours of driving) to see my parents before I leave. After that I'll be driving to Atlanta for my roommate's wedding (!!!). From there I'll be flying out to Austria.

I've been completely overwhelmed with trying to pack 4 years of belongings into my car. Which, by the way, I eventually gave up and decided that was impossible. Rental trucks weren't an option (they had none available) and neither was installing a hitch and trailer to my car (it would take over a week for the parts to come in for the hitch installation). Once I accepted my "plans" were once again needing to change, things seemed to settle down a little bit. Then I was able to look at what I need for Europe vs storage for the summer. Whatever doesn't fit in my car I'm leaving in a friend's basement for the summer.

It's been really hard to say good bye to Winston Salem. In the last few days, even weeks, I've been blessed with the time and availability to spend quality time and conversation with friends. I'm so glad I stayed as long as I did after graduation. Now that I've decided (forced?) to leave things here until I come back, I can honestly say I'm relieved. Now I have an excuse to come back before I move out to Memphis in the fall.

Well, travels begin officially tomorrow. Better rest and be ready for the morning.
